Dear Explorer,
Read John 6:22-34
The people were searching for Jesus and couldn't understand how He got across the lake without them knowing it. We know – He walked! But that's yesterday's lesson.
Today I want you to see what Jesus says is the crowds' reason for looking for Him. What was it?
You just want more free food! But Jesus says there's something more important than physical food and that's spiritual food.
When He mentioned spiritual things, what was their main question?
What works do I have to do to be spiritual? Isn't this what most people and most religions teach today? What do I need to do to earn or deserve God's attention? How did Jesus answer that?
God has already done all the work. Jesus is the Bread of life. It's not a question of deeds or good works.
Read John 6:35-40
There's quite a bit of meat in this little bite. So, let's dig it out.
First, Jesus says if we believe in Him, we'll never be hungry or thirsty again. Do you think He is talking about the physical or spiritual?
He's talking about spiritual hunger and thirst. While I often feel spiritually hungry for more of Him, I know that I can come freely and receive all I want or need. But if I reject Him, then my life would always be empty and filled with a gnawing hunger inside.
Again, Jesus states that He is filled with the Holy Spirit and doing God's will – not His own.
What does Jesus say is God's will in John 6:39-40? (There are two things)
Is that just for a few ‘specially pre-chosen people? What does the Scripture say?
What promise do you see here for those who are following Jesus?
The promise is that if we have invited Jesus into our inner core then we are held tightly by Jesus and He won't let us fall out of His hand. He has promised us eternal life and He will keep us for all eternity!
Read Matthew 14:34-36

Read Mark 6:53-56
We don't know how much time has passed since the feeding of the 5000 and Jesus and Peter walking on the water. But here we see them crossing the Sea of Galilee again and going to Gennesaret again.
Review the study for Days 108 and 109 if you don't remember what happened there. How did the people of Gennesaret (the Gadarenes or Gerasene) respond to Jesus on His first visit?
Why do you think this time was different?
I think it was because of the man named Legion! Do you remember that after Jesus had cleansed him from the demons, he wanted to travel with Jesus? But Jesus told him to go back to his home and tell all the people what had happened to him.
God is always at work around you preparing the hearts of the people for Him!
In His service, dale
