Dear Explorer,
Read Luke 12:1-12
This statement by Jesus was quite powerful. Let's dig in! Who was Jesus speaking to?
We've already discussed yeast (Days 105 and 131) if you need to review it. What was Jesus' message in Luke 12:1-3?
How is hypocrisy or hidden sin like yeast?
Luke 12:4-5 continues a similar theme. Don't be afraid of the Pharisees. Don't worry about what your friends think. You should worry about what God thinks! Pleasing Him should be your goal.
What does Luke 12:6-7 tell you?
Keep your priorities straight! God loves you so much. Keep your eyes on Him and love Him back.
What does Luke 12:8-9 tell you?
Here God asks you to stand firmly for Him and not cave in to peer pressure or pressure from the world around you.
We discussed Luke 12:10 on Day 98 if you want to review it.
What is the promise given to followers of Jesus in Luke 12:11-12?
God will guide you and tell you what you need to say.
Jesus, surrounded by crowds that were pressing in and stepping on each other, taught many things. Look back over today's teachings – was there something in today's lesson that stood out for you?
When you listen to a sermon or teaching, whether live or recorded, it's important to let the Holy Spirit guide you so that you hear what He wants you to hear. I had a dear friend, Jim Pierce, who said it this way:
When you go to the grocery store, you don't purchase everything there. You pick and choose what you need. Similarly, we should allow the Holy Spirit to lead us as we listen to sermons or read books or do studies, letting the Holy Spirit show us what we need to learn and leaving the rest for later.
If you will allow Him to guide you, you will not get overwhelmed. And you'll get just what you need for today!
In His service, dale
