Dear Explorer,
Read John 8:12
My husband and I visited Carlsbad Caverns on our honeymoon. I had never been into a large cave and really enjoyed seeing God's creation underground. But one thing stands out on that visit. A guide was taking about 7 of us through the cavern on a special hike away from the crowds. We got in one area and the guide told us to “freeze”. He warned us not to take a single step, then he turned off the light. We were in total darkness. A darkness that was so complete we could not see our own hands in front of our face. Now you know the bruises you can get when you try to walk around in semi-darkness at home. You don't really want to walk around in spiritual darkness! Jesus is the Light of the world.

Who is Jesus speaking to?
When Jesus teaches the crowds and multitudes, He uses very simple and easy to understand language. He sometimes uses parables to help them understand. But when He speaks to the Pharisees, He seems to speak in riddles. Why? Because the Pharisees spent most of their time debating the semantics of God's Word. Their greatest pleasure came in finding loopholes and conundrums to debate. Jesus is merely talking to them in their own language. And He speaks “Scripture-ese” better than they do!
God speaks your language, too! He knows all about “worry-ese”, “impatient-ese”, “fed-up-ese” and “question-ese”. Whatever your language today, God knows your heart language and understands it and speaks it!
In His service, dale
