Dear Explorer,
Read Matthew 19:13-15
Who was being brought to Jesus?
Why? What did they seek?
What does Jesus say about the children?
Read Mark 10:13-16
How did Jesus say we must enter God's Kingdom?
What does that mean to you?
Little children don't come to Jesus trying to earn His love or deserve it. They just accept His love and enjoy His presence.
Most adults want to know what all is involved. What is my part and what is His? To invite Jesus into your life – you just make the decision and He does the rest. He's already paid the price for your sins and has arranged all the details so that the Holy Spirit can move in immediately and start to give you instructions.
Then if you want the best possible life, you start obeying Him and letting Him guide you through life.
My youngest grandson has just turned 7. He has absolutely no problem loudly declaring that he wants that cookie because it is the biggest and has the most chocolate chips. He is not embarrassed or shy about what he wants.
I believe that Jesus would be thrilled with that child-like attitude if right now you just declared loudly, “I want the very best for my life so I'm inviting you, Jesus, to come into my empty spot and direct my life!”
Looking at this account in Mark, we see Jesus not only blessing the children, but taking them into His arms and holding them. I like to think that that's how He receives me when I come to Him. He is not rushed or hassled by my running to Him. He stops and picks me up and holds me whenever I desire to come near to Him.
I pray that you will feel that sweet, sweet love of Jesus anytime you run to Him.
Read Luke 18:15-17
Jesus says, “Let the little children come, and do not hinder them.” What were the disciples doing to hinder the children coming?
Are there things that we do today that hinder people from coming to know about Jesus?
I believe that our attitudes, our actions, our acceptance or lack of it hinders some people from deciding to follow Jesus.
In His service, dale
