Dear Explorer,
Re-Read John 14:4-10
The disciples, even at this late date, were still confused and wondering what all this meant. Remember, they were in the middle of these events – and had no clue what was about to happen.
Now I remember when I was 8 years old and my Grandmother told me this Good News in response to my questions. I will never forget the confusion I felt.
I finally blurted out, “I want to (invite Jesus in)! But I don't know how!” That's when she took me by the hand and got down on her knees and began to pray. Then she invited me to, “Talk to Jesus and tell Him you want to invite Him into your heart.” And I did!
If you've never prayed, it's a strange sensation to talk out loud to God. But if you are ready to make this decision – that's the way to start – simply by telling God that you want Jesus to be your Messiah, your Savior, and to forgive you of being empty and pay for all your sins. He'll take care of the details!
Since God is spirit, He hears everything you say, and He says that He will come in if you invite Him. It's that simple.
But, back to the verses (John 14:4-10).
What do you think it means that if you've seen Jesus, you've seen God?
Remember that Jesus is just one part of the Trinity. There is also God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit. But they are all individually God and they are all together God. And we only worship 1 God made up of 3 parts or identities. We discussed this on Day 3 and Day 158.
When I was a young teenager, I heard a preacher say that when we got to Heaven, the only God we would see was Jesus sitting on the throne. Then where is God?
From everything I've studied, I would say that God is spirit (John 4:24). That explains why He can be in all places at once.
We have physical things to help us understand, but they are very limited. Remember that this is just a simple model that couldn't possibly explain all the aspects of God. Particles on earth can only be solids, liquids and gas. So, we would categorize God as a gaseous being, while Jesus was a solid. But a spirit is far superior to a gas!
I suspect (but don't know for sure) that that preacher was right and the only God that we will “see” in physical form, will be Jesus, but we will feel and know God's presence.
It's an interesting thing to ponder, but there is no Scripture that spells out the details. So, we'll look forward to Heaven where it will all be revealed.
In His service, dale
