Re-Read Luke 5:31-32
Jesus was criticized for going to Matthew's house and eating with sinners and tax collectors! Jesus told them that He came to heal the sick – not the ones who thought they were spiritually healthy. I would write it: Jesus came for the empty people, not the filled!
Do you think Jesus was saying that the Pharisees and teachers of the Law didn't need Him? Or was He saying, “As long as you think you are healthy (or filled) – I can't help you”?
Sometimes it is actually easier for a person who has openly sinned to come and ask Jesus for help than it is for a person who pretends to be religious.
When I was 8 years old, I knew how wicked I was – how mean I was to my 2 brothers and how often I lied to get out of trouble with my parents. I knew there was no way that I could get to Heaven. So, when I learned that Jesus would take my sin and my emptiness and fill my life with Himself – I was ready to ask Him. I've followed him since that day in 1962.
Have you asked Him to be your Messiah, to fill your empty core and take away your sins? If so, write a brief testimony explaining when and how that happened.
